01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of Cádiz on Av. Cayetano del Toro, 29, Bar El Toro de Cayetano is a charming tapas bar that truly captures the essence of Spanish culinary traditions with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. This local gem offers a diverse menu blending classic tapas with heartier options, perfect for sharing or indulging solo.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a warm, relaxed vibe complemented by friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The attentive service shines through, with the chef often taking time to discuss the menu and assist diners in selecting a variety of standout dishes. This personalized approach adds a delightful touch to each visit.

The menu here is thoughtfully curated, featuring a range of delicious tapas alongside more substantial dishes. Customers rave about highlights such as freshly prepared nachos, savory burgers, and expertly cooked tagliata. The flavors are vivid and satisfying — think tender meats, fresh seafood, and bold seasonings that dance on the palate. Leonie Holtkamp praises the "very nice menu, elaborate," adding that everything tasted fantastic in a friendly, intimate setting. Meanwhile, Dino Ioannou describes the food as excellent and service as "more accommodating" than expected, reinforcing the bar's genuine hospitality.

While most dishes impress, there are subtle notes of variation — for example, Edita Petaros enjoyed the tuna, though found the tagliata good but not stellar, and Kadri-Liis Alber noted that the tuna could be a bit chewy. Nonetheless, these minor nuances do not overshadow the overall culinary charm of the place.

Bar El Toro de Cayetano is ideal for those craving authentic Spanish flavors without pretense. Whether you're popping in for generous tapas or a comforting burger, you’ll leave with a satisfied appetite and a smile, captivated by the genuine spirit of Cádiz’s dining culture.

A nice place to fill your tum tum. Not fancy but they serve delicious food. Very relaxed and good service. Apart from tapas, which are of good sizes, they do more substantial meals, too.

A gem of a restaurant in the narrow streets of Cádiz. Excellent food (the best pulled pork with cheddar I've ever), big portions, fast service, the staff are super friendly. We left the place feeling so happy and thanking the chefs for such amazing food. A valuable tip: try the flamenquin cordobés casero.

We went to El Toro after football match in Cadiz and we wanted to get fish and/or beef and both was good. It doesn't have some amazing atmosphere around, there are far nicer places in Cadiz, but for the price meals were great, and waitress was very helpful (also communicating a bit in English)
